Carlisle Celebrates Environmental Sustainability & Treedom Partnership

At Carlisle Brake & Friction, we believe in the value of investing in our planet. Recently, our team in Orzinuovi, IT have embarked on a collaboration with Treedom – the first ever web-based platform that allow its partners to sponsor the planting of trees remotely. The trees are planted by local communities in five different countries (Colombia, Ecuador, Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania) and contribute to environmental, social and economic benefits. 

In collaboration with the Treedom platform, we have planted 400 trees capable of absorbing as much as 160.50 t* of CO₂. We have choose to give life to this project because it represents our conception of sustainability which embodies three concepts: economic, social and environmental sustainability.  

We’re growing trees with Treedom to sow for the future. They may be seedlings today, but tomorrow our trees will provide food, shelter and incomes, as well as helping capture CO₂ from the atmosphere. Planting trees on farmland where they are cared for by local smallholders brings many advantages: from boosting biodiversity to reducing erosion and enriching the soil. Local communities tend the trees over the years, learning new skills and building themselves a sustainable future in both environmental and financial terms. That’s why growing trees today means sowing for the future.
